WHAT IS THE COST OF ONE OF YOUR KITTENS?
Our Maine Coon kittens are currently pet priced: between $2000-$3000.
If you are interested in breeding rights, we can discuss whether that is possible for any individual litter/kitten. The fee will be the same cost as the kitten price.
Each kitten comes with:
1. Health Guarantee, according to contract
2. Vet Health Check (including vaccinations and worming as needed)
3. Litter Training
4. Pedigree Information
5. Papers to register with TICA.
7. Optional - Breeding Rights Agreement upon further discussion, approval and payment.
Each kitten will be sold with a spay/neuter Kitten Agreement (unless you are approved for breeding rights).

WHEN CAN I PICK MY KITTEN UP?
Typically, our kittens will be ready to go between 10-12 weeks. A kitten can be chosen between 6-8 weeks and a deposit made at that time through Zelle or Venmo or cash if not already paid. We do not accept checks for the balance at pickup unless agreed upon ahead of time. The price of the kitten must be paid in full when you pick up your kitty.

WHAT IF I LIVE OUT OF STATE?
You can purchase from out of state, but we highly recommend and prefer that you pick up your kitty in person because it will reduce stress on the kitten. We are willing to drive up to 3 hours to meet our kitten families whether you are driving or flying. Whether you want to drive or fly, keep in mind we are in Maine and not close to very much. When it is time for kittens to go home, we prefer that families plan to travel to us to pick up their kittens. If we have multiple families, we will plan a day that we will travel to the Portland, Maine area to meet with families there, but it will be a one day thing. We cannot travel down separately for each kitten. We will stagger pick-up times at a pre-determined location on one day. We are closest to the Bangor, Maine airport. We will meet you at the Bangor Airport if you fly into Bangor.

If you are not in New England, please feel free to discuss with us options for getting your kitten.

We will attempt to contract with Flight Nanny to secure a courier for your kitten to transport your kitten via air if you cannot fly into to one of the airports, or if you cannot drive to within 3 hours of us. A courier will accompany the kitten in the cabin, this is also dependent on location. You will be responsible for any transportation costs for your kitten.

Shipping costs in addition to your final balance are mandatory 2 weeks prior to the date your kitten(s) can be shipped, and must be paid via Zelle or Venmo. We have to coordinate with the airlines and veterinarians for health certificates, which dictates the 2 week timeline.
If you plan to take the kitten on a flight with you, You will need to reserve a spot with you in the cabin with the airline in advance. This is to ensure you will be able to board with your kitten.

DO YOU OFFER A HEALTH GUARANTEE?
We offer a LIMITED health guarantee within our purchase/sales contract. For this to remain intact, you must have your kitten assessed by a vet within 48 hours of arriving home. We recommend making that appointment for your new kitten well in advance of pick up.

HOW BIG WILL MY KITTEN GET?
Maine Coons take 3 years to reach their full size, and then another 2-3 years to attain their full maturation in appearance. Once they reach 3 years old, you can expect that your cat is as large as it will be. We cannot and do not guarantee a certain size for our kittens. We also cannot guarantee coloring of your kitten as he or she grows. Coloring and Marking changes as the coat fills in and the kitten matures. For more information about Maine Coons, this is a very informative and helpful site: https://mainecoon.org/

HOW SHOULD I INTRODUCE MY NEW KITTEN TO OUR HOME?
Everything will feel new and overwhelming for your sweet little one. Expect that there may be some vocalization/crying on the way home, as Maine Coons are often very vocal kitties. Your kitten is just afraid and needs to learn to feel safe in the new environment.
Choose a small room like a bathroom for the first few days. It will make the kitten feel more secure.
Play with your kitten a lot and monitor them with children.
Consult with your vet in advance as to how best to help your kitten adjust if you have other animals in the home. Introduction to other pets is a delicate matter. Please remember that your kitten is fearful of new things until he or she can adjust and learn to feel safe. ALL dogs will be seen as a predator instinctively by your new kitten. Please research and carefully have a plan to introduce your kitten to any dog. We have successfully introduced our cats to both a German Shepherd and a Golden Retriever. Your kitten and your dog can become best friends if the introduction is handled carefully and thoughtfully.

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS OR NEED HELP?
Please feel free to reach out to us and or your veterinarian with any questions or concerns. We want this to be the best experience possible for both you, your family and your new kitten!
We absolutely LOVE getting updates, seeing pictures, and hearing how all are adjusting in their new forever family.

DO YOU SHOW YOUR CATS?
Not at this time, but that is something we are interested in! They definitely show themselves off at the veterinarian and to friends and family, but we don't get any awards for that. ;) They sure are beautiful!

CAN WE VISIT YOUR CATTERY?
Prior to making a deposit, we are available for a real-time video chat. After a deposit has been made, you are allowed one visit with your kitten if time and distance permit.
We will upload kitten videos and pictures often so that you can see them grow! We post daily on Facebook, CooncatsofMaine, when we have a litter.
